Awesome Old Timey Vintage Pets

Here at I Can Has Cheezburger we're a tiny bit obsessed with retro photographs. Of course, these historical eras were far from perfect, but the people and animals of yesteryear are just such cool cats, with their awesome retro style and their aesthetic black and white photography. It's one of the reasons why we love to look through heartwarming vintage photos that reveal the difference between people and animals. Especially when those photos include adorable animals, because that's a win-win.

The doggos and cats of yesteryear seem to have this enviable tranquility in all of the photos they post for. You'd think a goose would be annoyed by being shoved into an old school car, or that a cat would be annoyed by… well basically anything, but these photogenic animals look purrfectly at peace to just chill out happily. We're certainly not going to complain, after all, these one-of-a-kind images wouldn't be possible otherwise, so thank you furry friends!

Wow, this makes us want to adopt a pet swan of our own! Just look at this chonky bird politely waiting to be carried into the vehicle, it stands so polite and still, like an enormous Ikea lamp. We should all be lucky enough in life to have a giant swan as a companion to take for drives whenever we want to.

Dapper gentleman coming through! Do you see this awwdorable guy from the 1800s with his pipe? Hopefully there's no tobacco inside this pipe, because smoking is really bad for dogs. But also this image was taken in the 1800s when no one really knew better, so it might be that they were giving the dog tobacco. Ah the "good old days", so dangerous to everyone, but also pretty aesthetic.
