Font - PSA: "Puppaccinos" are not always a good idea [Discussion] Yesterday I was at a Starbucks with my dog and they asked if he'd like a puppaccino, so I said sure. This was Brock's first and last pup cup. The treat was basically a small cup filled with fairly dense whipped cream. It seemed like too much so I only let him have half. Dude had explosive diarrhea for 12 hours. First experience was without warning in our living room. Then I had to get up to take him out every hour or two last nigh

It's a fun treat but only if your dog's body can handle the whipped cream 6 Reply 1 679 3 BanananaSquid · 11d Every dog is so different! I have two dogs that both can handle a ton of dairy. We jokingly call one of them a "cheese st". The only time she ever had a problem was when she nabbed a WHOLE WHEEL of brie off the coffee table at Thanksgiving

Font - James324285241990 • 11d Yeah it's a small cup for a big dog. It's a HUGE cup for most dogs. Imagine eating a mixing bowl full of whipped cream and what that would do to your stomach. 6 Reply 1 105 +

Product - Efficient_Mastodons • 11d Yeah, I know it's supposed to be a cute treat and I appreciate the gesture by Starbucks staff, but I decided that it wasn't a good idea for my pup. Thank you for verifying and confirming this. I know it sucks for you, but I feel quite vindicated in saying no. G Reply 40 + hisnameisbrock OP · 11d Slightly silly but I feel good that it helped someone else's awareness! I also was wary of it but gave it a shot after being asked several times. Not worth it! 4 14 3

Font - LuthorCorp1938 · 11d My doggo can stomach pup cups just fine but I don't let him have them because he's on a diet and had no self control. He also had what I thought was bloat earlier this year. Thankfully it was just gas. But he only gets easy to digest food now.

Font - abn1304 • 11d ACD/Blue Heeler Lots of medical misinformation in this thread. Lactose intolerance is more common in dogs than in humans, but is still the exception rather than the rule. Whipped cream is as safe for dogs as it is for humans. "But sugar is bad for dogs!" It's bad for humans too. "It's not good for their teeth!" It isn't good for your teeth either, but you probably brush yours twice a day. Keep your dog's teefies clean and they'll be fine. "They're allergic to milk!" Some of

Font - Whyareyoulikethis27 · 11d I just want to point this out long after the fact: most animals are lactose intolerant! That's...the normal state of things lol. Most animals don't do great with another species' milk outside of infancy. Any humans that can are outliers. 4 24 3 ...

Product - some_random_chick · 11d FYI: there are lactose free ice cream for dogs available at pet stores. My guy loved them. Reply 1 756 hisnameisbrock OP • 11d I like getting him the flavored water ice at one of my nearby stores. Normally l'd say no to an unknown treat but I figured hey worth a shot. No, was not worth a shot. 6 4 264 ...

Font - rudesty · 11d My dog is a 13lb dumpster. We live in a neighborhood with an appalling amount of food trash (that I obviously try to limit his intake of) and he only gets an upset stomach like once a year. It's honestly impressive. He isn't allowed to have pup cups anyway though because one, he is only 13lbs and can't afford the calories. And two, he's an asshole who barks at the person working the drive through and doesn't deserve it.

Font - -poiu- · 11d Cheese (and yogurt) has a lot less lactose than milk or cream though. Lots of dogs can handle a bit of cheese, milk is another story. Also lol my dog just tried to steal a wheel of Brie off the dinner table. I had to wrestle it back out of his mouth and he was not amused. Glad I got there in time! + 94 3

Font - ErinBikes • 11d My 9 month old GR looovveesss her pup cups. She's a little teenage monster, but will patiently wait outside of Starbucks for me since she knows one is coming. She has a sensitive stomach too but not to milk, so we get them every few weeks for her as a special treat. G Reply 1 10 3 +
