A big workplace no-no for employees is being forced to do more work when upper management cuts the workforce. It's really not fair to be expected to keep up the same productivity levels while more and more actual work is forced upon you.
This post to Reddit's r/MaliciousCompliance community by u/mikemojc showcases how one team leader didn't let this kind of scheme by throwing the problem back on upper management for not hiring people to replace staff that left — the malicious compliance this team leader dished out left their team members with bonuses while middle management got nothing for screwing up.
As Redditors point out in the comments, this story is an example of a good team leader and manager. Good job, OP. Always great seeing some solid malicious compliance in the workplace.
