We've often said that sometimes pets can act like a-holes, whether they mean to or not. Bring a wild animal being kept as a pet into the mix, and things can get very messy. In this case, a woman got a pet fox, and it began to take up way more of her time than she anticipated. In addition, fox pee is very potent and strong smelling, and the fox wasn't potty trained, you guys can imagine what happened with that. But her workplace was less than accommodating, and even suggested that she surrender the fox to the nearest animal rescue society!
Here at I Can Has Cheezburger we've seen our fair share of awwdorable foxes, but always in the wild or taken care of by non profits, never in the home of an individual. But what would it be like for a human to attempt to take care of a baby fox or some adult foxes the way you would adopt a puppy? Well unfortunately, after reading this thread we might just know the answer to that. Most of all we feel for the poor fox in this scenario, and we sincerely hope that the fox was able to be placed in a suitable environment along with other foxes and with plenty of space and open air.
To start with, when they surrender, what exactly do they mean? Because abandoning an animal is never the right option, but perhaps the fox would be happier in an animal sanctuary or a environment more suitable for foxes. Regardless, it doesn't sound like the bosses decision to make. Let's read more of the story and find out more about what exactly happened.
Ok, an engineering department, it sounds like a pretty upscale company and a semi-professional environment in terms of dress code and conduct. We wonder where their office is located and how rural of an area it is, because we haven't heard of people keeping pet foxes in say an apartment. Hmm, let's read onward….
