Internet users seem to really love indulging their nostalgic sides. Hot off the heels of the "We used to be a country" Twitter meme, user @lolennui has taken the site down a walk down McDonald's memory lane with the help of the sites many wistful fast food fans.

Using just the above photo of a McDonalds ashtray of yore, the comedy writer (and self-described Phd dropout) inspired dozens of images from the fast food giant's past - not just of its aesthetic vibe but also of long-discontinued menu items such as McDonald's pizza (!!) and tacos, the latter of which hilariously came with a packet of oxymoronic "mild picante" sauce. While the appeal of these almost universally yellowy images may be lost on some Gen Z-ers, for most older folks they remind us of simpler times - times when we could clog our arteries and microdose lung cancer, all at the same time. Vaping while eating a Big Mac just doesn't feel the same.
