In this post to Reddit's popular r/tifu community, u/oldhouse98 posted about how they very cleverly attempted to put all their clothes for a flight in vacuum-sealed bags. This worked perfectly well until TSA forced them to cut all the bags open so they could be inspected — as the OP learned, this is not allowed.
"Everyone was looking at me like I was an idiot. I had to buy a bigger piece of luggage for a lot of money and then check my bag at the gate," the OP wrote.
It hurts to imagine this poor soul desperately trying to re-stuff their bag while hundreds of impatient strangers look on. Oof. Another trip ruined by frustrating experiences with airport security.
The hatred for the TSA is real in the comments, and probably well deserved. Check out this time that the TSA Ordered Videographer To Screen Electronics Individually, He Had Dozens.
