Cat Who Doesn’t Usually Show Affection and Man Who Gets Nervous Around Animals Fall in Love and Become a Furever Family

It was an emotional roller coaster for this man and kitten's love story, but I promise it has a happy ending. TikToker Kelli Sumrall convinced her husband to go to a rescue cat cafe with her. He isn't a big cat person, in fact, he gets nervous around animals in general, yet he still agreed. When they got there, he sat down and the cafe's resident non-affectionate kitten hopped right on his lap. I guess he saw him as not a threat and decided this their person. 

“When you go to the cat cafe with you husband who gets nervous around animals and he gets ‘chosen’ by the kitten who doesn't usually show affection to people… The staff were shocked and said, ‘that’s not normal for her.' They fell in love with each other and didn't want to be separated… So we submitted an adoption application.”

Unfortunately, the cat was already meeting potential adopters that week. However, the rescue said that it is just a trial sleepover with the kitten and the family, so they will keep their paperwork just in case it doesn't work out. They were told it would probably take weeks before they would know for sure if they were able to adopt the kitten or not. The couple waited with bated breath and so did their followers. Since posting the initially video showing the kitten and her husband getting along so well, other TikTokers became invested in the story. After days of not knowing, they finally got an update.

Update: Prior Adoption Fell Through, They Get the Kitten! 

It turned out that the family had others cats they were trying to introduce the kitten to, but after many attempts, it just wasn't working out. So they were able to adopt the kitten! And to make sure their epic saga stayed interesting, they also let them know that the cat they thought was female, was actually male! So they named him Saber and were able to bring him home in a matter of a few days.  

First Time Home

Since his first steps into his new furever home, Saber has been the happiest kitten. And the husband who was “not a cat person” is not a cat dad and they are obsessed with each other.
