When this worker called out sick before their shift they were told that they weren't going to be paid because they hadn't called out early enough. Their idiot manager told them that they had to call in before 6 AM to get paid sick leave. So that is exactly what they did. The next morning they called their manager at 5 AM.
It's really not surprising that this manager wanted to change their ridiculous rule for calling in sick to a shift. So why did they enforce it in the first place? Clearly, the intended result of the rule was going to be unideal for them.
