Obviously, my cousin thought it was a bargain. He made an offer and the guy accepted. We drive down an hour and this guy says he got a better offer, naturally, my cousin gets pissed and bummed out.

I told him we should totally mess with this guy. I got the same app and found the post.
-
03
A few minutes later he messages my cousin telling him the buyer backed out.

Cousin wasn't sad anymore.

Good looking out for your cousin, but I also commend your low-effort high-yield pettiness.

"Low effort, high yield pettiness" should be its own sub!
-
07
Great idea, perfect execution, plus you totally nailed the spirit of the sub. 11/10!

I hate it when sellers play games. I drove 3 hours to look at a car only to show up and it had just sold. Well, thanks for not telling me somebody was looking at it right before me dirtbag...

Ahh the old "other buyer" scam.

Some 15-year-old spoiled brat did that to me once. Drove two hours to meet him for a guitar amp, then when I'm at his house with my buddy he says someone just offered him an extra $200. I told him I'm not going to the ATM for more cash, and just took his amp and left my money. He said I was stealing, and I'm like bud, good luck explaining that to the cops after our email correspondence/your agreement with the picture I just took of me leaving money on your coffee table. F--ker was complaining that his stepdad didn't buy him the amp he wanted...it was a f--king $2000 amp and he wanted a $3000 one. What a prick.

You rule.

Good chess game. You outplayed the seller so well, he may not even know. Best part: Free Delivery.

I believe in a little courtesy when selling on offer up, I have recieved higher offers for items but will still sell to the original person for the price agreed on. Knowing that I was true to my word means more to me than a few extra bucks
