'IT'S CORN! A big lump with knobs': Wholesome Kid Becomes a Meme For Raving About His Love For Corn on the Cob

Kid's really do say the darnedest things. Most of the time, kid's call things out with more honesty and more wholesome truthfulness than the world can handle. That's exactly what happened when Tariq, a young boy who was interviewed recently by @recesstherapy, shared his honest-to-goodness opinion about the World's most versatile vegetable: Corn.

🌽Children of the… corn? 🌽

When asked by @recesstherapy what he likes about corn, he simply replied, “It tasted good. When I tried it, it got better. I love corn.”

It seemed as if Tariq was so transfixed by the buttery goodness of roasted corn that he seemed to direct the interview back to the idea that corn is the greatest food. To be totally honest, who DOESN'T love corn? Tariq really hit the nail on the head with this one. Of course, within a few weeks of the video being released, there was a song made from the sound bites, comedic virility took over, and now Tariq is an internet sensation with an inspiring message.

“Not everybody has to like it for it to be the best- they just have to try it. Have a bite!”

Once the new sound bite was created, Tariq was everywhere spreading his corn gospel and positivity around the globe. In essence, Tariq has shown us not to take things too seriously, which is what @recesstherapy is all about. He interviews kids and gets their honest opinions about regular things, treating them like adults with an opinion and not just a child at the park.

He just really loves the pure things that kids have to say! I promise it's not in a creepy way either.

“Could you describe corn to someone who has never eaten it before?”

“It's a big lump with knobs… It has the juice, which is the part that makes me like the corn."

Tariq stole our hearts this week and has given the Internet another viral interview to obsess about for another month or so. Until then, here's hoping that you have the corn kid song stuck in your head for the next couple of weeks, blotting out any semblance of any other music. At least something has taken the place of the “Chrissy Wake Up” song that scoured the Earth not to long ago.

Maybe at least with corn kid, Tariq, we'll have something beautiful and positive to think about during our next cookout. One day, we'll look at a corn on the cob and realize that it is simply the best of roasted vegetables and that it really does “have the juice”. So buttery.

We can all agree, it’s corn.
