The 2000s inspired clothing styles that range from slay to throw away. These Disney Channel stars were subjected to the worst of it. It's almost too painful to look at these old pictures of Ashley Tisdale, Brenda Song, Miley Cyrus, Emily Osment, Mitchell Musso, Selena Gomez and Zendaya. Cargo pants, graphic tee's with cringy sayings, maxi-dresses, low-rise jeans, khaki chinos, jeans under skirts, chunky accessories, Ugg boots, boat shoes, ballet flats, golf plaid and flared jeans are just some of the heinous trends that are exhibited below. The stylists at Disney had their work cut out for them, we understand that. But they were supposed to make these teens look 'hip.' Or at least they tried. They went the slightly angsty 'cool girls angel' with graphic guitar t-shirts. They also tried 'preppy cow-girl chic'. The color schemes are all over the place. These styles are hard to look at now, the cringe is palpable. But looking back brings a smile regardless. Take a look at this mix of iconic but dead looks.
The layering days were so extra. The scary thing is, we used to think that we HAD to dress like them. I remember when all the girls in my grade looked like this, myself included.
London Tipton looks like a 1920's flapper girl and Maddie's necklace is way too clunky. It could drag her to the floor. Her skirt also reminds us of Dunkin Donuts.
Is this a 1980's workout video? Shake It Up outfits were unhinged.
So many clashing patterns. We can't bare to look.
Is her dress a cake recipe?
Jeans under skirts, man. Who decided this monstrosity?
This outfit is not a dream - it's a nightmare.
Why did they have to do Mitchell Musso so dirty?
Blue Uggs. Ugh.
We are pretty sure every woman now that was a teen in the 2000s wore a baiting suit cover up as a shirt. Why was this allowed?
Party in the USA with your Bermuda shorts on.
Fun fact: Ashley Tisdale was a pink and orange clad British solider once.
These colors are basically poop.
