RIP Bella. No wonder OP is so knowledgeable and passionate about service dogs. One clearly had a significant impact on her mother's life.  A sharp eye for ADA intruding Karen's is one of OP's strong suits.

Font - When it comes to fake service animals, I'm not nice. Especially when people try to argue with me about it after. Today, a lady came in, her dog wrapped up in a blanket in her arms. I immediately knew it wasn't a service dog.

"When it comes to fake service animals, I'm not nice."

Nor should you be, these passing off fake service animals make things all the more difficult for people who actually NEED their service animals with them at all times to perform potentially life-saving services.

Font - Well, emotional support animals aren't protected by the ADA, therefore, they aren't considered service animals. Me:"I'm sorry, ma'am. But emotional support animals are not protected by the ADA and aren't considered service animals. I can't serve you."

"Well, emotional support animals aren't protected by the ADA, therefore, they aren't considered service animals"

    Point blank.

Font - She started to scream at me, threatening to sue me and call the cops. My response was:"For what? Refusing service to a woman who is faking a service animal? Which, by the way, is a civil penalty fine up to $250 each time in (state)? Go ahead, call the cops. I'll be here."

"She started to scream at me, threatening to sue me and call the cops."

OP had the perfect response, Karen shut up reaaaaal quick.

Font - She went silent after that and just left. Thank god. PSA, do NOT bring your untrained pets into a non pet friendly store! And especially do not fake a service animal! You make it harder for the people who actually need them!

    Amen, OP, amen.

Font - fishnetdiver · 3 days ago I worked front desk at a hotel that allowed service animals. We had a guest checked in with a small poodle claiming it was a service dog. Well next day after she checked out housekeeping found a nice brown 'present' left in the hall so we checked the security tapes to verify that it was her dog so we could charge her. What we saw was freaking hilarious. She had closed our bar down and was stumbling down the hall, dog following. She then proceeded to to pass out i

It's an emotional support animal. She even got bullshit papers and a little vest from some Web site to try and make it look more official."

When will entitled Karens finally be stopped?

Font - ChaosKing1081 · 3 days ago As a former manager at Save a Lot I salute you. I had a lady that would bring her little ankle biter in with her. The first couple times I let it go. But then the dog started snapping at other customers when they'd get to close. So when I told her that she couldn't bring the dog in, she started going on and on about it being her emotional support dog. I tried to point out to our store manager how we could be held liable if the dog bit somebody. But he just caved
