"Why do you have to make me cry?"
Working at a cat rescue isn't always smiles and rainbows—unfortunately, not every cat gets a success story… But don't get out the tissues just yet! Because this one has a happy ending, I promise.
Cat cafe/rescue Central Purrrk recently went viral for a tragic video they posted of one of their cats. Denali, a friendly three-year-old who loves belly rubs was desperately looking for his furever home. He was sweet to every human who came through the door and cuddled right up onto any willing person's lap.
You'd think a social kitty like that would get adopted ASAP, but poor Denali was, for some reason, not having any luck. People kept coming in and out of the cafe, playing with him for a little bit, and then leaving without him. Other cats around him were getting adopted and taken home to their furever families, but he was getting left all alone.
The video shows him hopped up on his hind legs, peering out of the window, meowing to the humans into the other room as if he is saying, “wait, come back! You forgot me!” The rescue/cafe posted the video in hopes of finding this sweet man a loving furever family.
“Denali is still waiting for his right person to show up… He is trying to tell these people to come back and take him home,” they wrote in the video. “Please share to help him find his forever home.”
Anybody who watches the video has a heart that instantly breaks—even if you're know a “cat person.” To see this innocent creature who just wants to share their love desperately crying through a window, it's just tragic.
But, before the video even needed to go viral, a hero came right before closing. Though the video is viral now, with almost 700k views, Denali's hero didn't need to see it to come to bring him home. Denali was adopted by a loving family right before the end of the day. They even have another kitty that is excited to have a sibling.
