As reported by Love Meow, the grey momma cat was bought into the shelter while already in the process of giving birth. She was clearly distraught when she realized that her babies didn't make it - any of them. But things took a turn for her when later that same day, a litter of orphan kittens that had been found in a park was brought to the clinic.

The kittens were alone and in desperate need of a mother's love. So, the staff decided to place the tiny kittens near the grey momma cat to see if she would accept them."She immediately started to allow them to feed and give them a bath. It's one of those tear worthy moments to see a mother who lost all her babies, accept babies who had no mom," Nikki of Best Friends Felines said.

Best Friends Felines in Brisbane, AU took the whole family into their rescue, and a foster carer named Sarah took them into her home. The cat mom, who's name is now Venus, seemed so happy to have a million things she could play and snuggle with. "She is a sweetheart (like her little heart nose) and very smoochy. She is doing a wonderful job with these little ones."

The rescued kittens have clearly had a rough few days of life after having been left outside without a mom. Sarah, who is a vet nurse, worked alongside Venus to nurse the babies back to full health, making sure that they were well-fed, warm and loved. And before they knew it, the kittens began to thrive. "Mama Venus also gained a little much-needed weight and was eating really well."

During the first few weeks, Venus acted like a true momma, spending most of her time caring for her kittens, nursing them around the clock, and keeping them purrfectly in check. "She always wants to cuddle. After making sure her babies needs are met and they are all ok, she will come up and snuggle on the couch," Nikki explained.

"She has a very soft voice, so it almost sounds like she's just opening her mouth rather than meowing. She is very attentive, always double checking all her babies are happy and comfortable before letting herself get comfortable." Venus watched the kittens learn to use their feet, eat on their own from a plate, as well as play and wrestle with one another. She looked pleased to see them thrive like that.

It took a few weeks in her foster home, but eventually, Venus had also regained some weight and got her energy back in full. She didn't really know how to play at first, but she was determined. As the kittens grew, she started to spend more and more time with her humans and quickly became the center of attention like she clearly wanted to be.

"Venus will always come up for cuddles any time of the day. She's very talkative and likes to demand attention. She would make an amazing addition to any family." We are hoping that all of them find their forever homes soon.
