Font - Revan_IV · 5d Join How many of you talk to your dog like they can understand you? (Fluff] My gf thinks I am nuts. We both have dogs, but she never baby talks/talks to her dog. I live for the head tilts! It's like they can understand me lol. Idk maybe I'm just high.. Edit: By talk, I meant like having full blown conversations. When I have a tough day at work, I complain to my dog about my day, and she would lay her head on my lap like she understands lol

Honestly, we see no issue with this. Maybe your girlfriend is just confused by you having this discussion with the dog rather than with her. But personally, we think it's kind of cute. We would think that seeing you being so wholesome and cute with the dog would be a good thing.

Font - ericamarieee 5d I talk to my dogs all the time. They act like they understand me most of the time lol 411 Q Reply Majestic-Fix8638 5d ... They often can understand us! Its not always about words but the intonations. They know what we sound when we are happy or mad and can react to it 181 र Q Reply O Gorlox111 5d I tell my girl to be good whenever I leave her alone for a bit. I really rrreally want her to understand lol

It's not just dogs either. As people who have owned both, we can safely say that we think cats and dogs both can understand us to a certain extent. It's in our tone, our body language, our expressions. Animals are a lot more observant than we normally give them credit for.

Font - Skipping TheDots 5d Oh believe me, mine fucking understands it's actually scary how smart he is. 10 Q Reply Wagging Tail5 4d Same! He's an active listener lol. He will listen, tilt his head, and when I say any of the words he for sure knows, he reacts. He has a very good vocabulary and will understand any of those words if they're whispered or just mouthed out. He even reads the expressions on my face/ body language and sometimes predicts what I'm gonna do or say. It is scary having a dog

Font - YouAreDreaming 5d I'm sure you know more than you realize if you're close with your dog Like, if I'm on a walk with my dog, and I'm letting him lead the way and I'm kind of on auto pilot, suddenly we'll stop and he's just looking at me with this certain look In his eyes, he wants to go in a different direction If we're in the house and he sits down and stares at me and growls, either food or bathroom If I ask him if he wants to do something and he lets a big ole stretch and than sits down

Font - TheSpiderClaw 5d Dogs are big on body language. They understand yours, and they use body language too. They also have very specific barks for different reasons: there is a special bark when it is known from the window a loved one has arrived home, which is very different than a bark to acknowledge a stranger's dog is passing by outside the window, which is also different than the bark that reacts to a sound the dog finds mysterious. I may not be able to mimic these barking reactions, but

Rectangle - subgameperfect 4d I have three sets of tasks every evening for my boys. There's a walk, a car ride and dinner. The body language and growls are different for each and, if l'm a bad human, the youngest is right on time to remind me every day. Silly that people don't consider their dogs' language.

Font - slykethephoxenix 5d If we're walking and he looks back and whips his head at me and starts trodding, he wants me to pick up the pace, which I will so I can catch up and spank his cute little butt Haha. My toy poodle does exactly this too. She lets out this little play growl when she looks back too XD.

Rectangle - J7SIX 5d ... Thats what's great about a dog .. you have a constant companion to share everything with especially for the times you just want to talk but not necessarily looking for anything back (verbally).. its amazing experience just sparking a blunt then zone out petting your dog laying next to you. Its probably one of my favorite ways to relax 4 91 O Q Reply + 1 91 1

Font - strawberrymoonbird 4d It has been studied how engaging with a pet helps with stress, depression and anxiety. Talking to them is a part of that. They might not understand every word and complex issue, but they can sense your emotions and often a loving pet will try to comfort their human. I tell my dogs I love them every day, many times. Just saying certain things out loud can relieve negative feelings and make you feel better. Talking to them has helped me a lot with feeling lonely during
