Three-Legged Security Dog Is Beyond Adorable And A Little Bit Daft

We've all seen our pets do some pretty ridiculous stuff. Every once in a while my pooch will turn over his water bowl, spilling all the rest of his water on the floor, just to tell me he wants more. But if you think that's funny, there's a Reddit page tailor-made for you. On r/AnimalsBeingDerps, pet owners share their funniest pictures, videos, and stories of their dogs, cats, fish, raccoons– you name it! The posts on this page are worth their weight in laughs, and one particular thread from this week was no exception.

Before we get to that, maybe you're like me and aren't exactly sure what a "Derp" is, but no worries there! A derp is something– or someone– that could be called foolish, or stupid. It's not so much an insult as it is an honorary title, and when we're talking about our pets, it's always said with a smile. So while the animals on the page might be acting silly, you know all the posts are coming from people who love and appreciate their friends' little antics.

As we said before, the post this week was no exception. User u/blong217 showed users a video of his pet, a gorgeous black dog with a white spotted neck– and one back leg! The security dog runs out into the yard when her parents open the door, and after that, she runs right back inside. Her owners said that this happens pretty often for this pooch. It’s All Clear, Mom!

As you can see from the video, this puppy bounds its way outside on its three legs, and stands at the edge of the yard to look around. What could she be waiting for? Maybe she heard something? A lot of commenters said that their dogs do the same thing if they're bored. But, they don't like to stay outside for long if their owners don't join them, and I don't blame them. I mean really, what fun is playing outside without friends?

I Wonder What She Ordered…

A few of the comments on the thread tried to guess what the dog was thinking when she went outside, and we think this one hit the nail on the head! I'll stand by the window waiting for pizza to get delivered, let alone a package. And, with how quickly this dog ran outside, she must've ordered something good!
