"We ended up adopting a dog from the streets while we were vacationing in Mexico and took her home with us to Paris."

Now that's a sentence we don't read every day, but we wouldn't mind reading it a bit more often!

Font - This happened on Christma's Eve. My girlfriend and I went to my hometown for the holidays and while I was showing her the city, a street dog came to us. She was limping and was all dirty. She licked my hand and then started using her paws to beg for attention. We pet her and thought she was adorable. I went to the store to buy her food and water.

    The rest is history.

Human body - We had a small conversation and then we decided we couldn't leave her in the streets if she was injured.

Font - We took her to the vet. She told us she's around 1 year old and she had a cut on her paw pad, probably from stepping on something sharp like glass. Our hands were all black after petting her, so we took her to the groomer's.

Font - Anyway, we decided to adopt her. It was an incredibly stressful time, because there was a lot of paperwork to get done and we didn't know if would be able to do it all in time. The vet was very supportive and so were the airlines. We had two flights. Long story short everything went well and she's the most adorable and sweetest dog ever.

Font - She has no behavioral issues. She's good with people and dogs. No anxiety. She's clean and has never had an accident indoors. EVER. She's super chill, so we take her on the train/bus with us while we travel. She doesn't steal food, but she's very smart and food motivated so training her is pure bliss. Last trick I taught her was how to close the door. She was our little Christmas miracle and I'm so happy she found us.

Font - RandomChurn · 2 days ago Through a local rescue org I got a Mexican street dog -- he'd had his throat torn open when he was a pup. The charity saved him, covered his vet bills, fostered him and finally flew him here. I got him at age one and like yours, he's a perfect boy: never an accident in the house, never a problem, settled in quickly, grown in confidence, no issues. Just a beautiful little poodle mystery mix. And yes, food-driven just enough that he's been effortless to train. Bless

Font - beatrizklotz · 1 day ago Must be something about street dogs. They are just magical I got my 4YO girl last Friday from a shelter in Brazil, and she's just like that. Walks on a loose leash, polite, doesn't beg for food or chew on anything she shouldn't. A little whiny, but no separation anxiety and perfectly potty trained with zero accidents. She lived all her life in a small concrete kennel, and yet she's just so good with everything.

Font - kfa92 · 2 days ago I'm from Mexico. I was just telling my fiancé that Mexican street dogs are the chilliest animals ever. You can literally just pick one up, take it home, and it'll be the best damn pet you ever had for 15 years and never give you a dumb vet bill. 194 Reply Give Award Share Report Save Follow

Font - Anxietoro · 2 days ago We just adopted a Mexican street dog a couple months ago and YES she is the chillest dog I've ever had. Clean bill of health, house trained within a week and is learning tricks quickly. Absolutely loves the cat. Hardly barks even though she's definitely a Chihuahua mix. 10/10 would get another Mexi again.
