I've had a lot of different jobs in my life, and they haven't all been fun. That's why, unfortunately, I've earned a penchant for being a bit of a complainer. It's something I need to work on, I know, but I think I found some inspiration to help me grow!
There's a community on Reddit called r/DogsWithJobs, and the content on this page is exactly what you'd expect: dogs with jobs! These dogs come in all shapes and sizes and work in everything from the care industry to agriculture and public safety. They're all adorable, hard-working, and most importantly: they don't complain! These puppers go to work with a grin every day, and if I could be more like them, I think that would be a wonderful thing!
To try to get into that mindset, I gathered up a few of the best doggos this week, and put them together in this thread! I was so impressed with the work these dogs do, and I think you will be too. For example, there are dogs right now working two jobs at once in the Kyiv metro system! They're sniffing for bombs and protecting the citizens of Ukraine, but also cheering up children who come through the station! This is just one of the unbelievable examples I saw of dogs with jobs this week, and I bet you're going to love all the others. Give them a look below!
This week's top most bestest doggo with a job was Dahlia, the livestock guardian. Dahlia helps her mom out on the farm by sniffing and remembering all the different animals, especially chickens, and going out to find them if anyone is missing. Dahlia's mom said that even with a new batch of chicks, Dahlia fixates on them very quickly and can catch the scent within minutes. This week, when a chick got lost, Dahlia led her mom right to the little baby and then helped bring the little chick home, which is why she was voted the bestest doggo of the week.
Love is in the air, and so is the smell of treats! This good boy– aptly named Tuxedo– is a psychiatric service dog who will be accompanying his owner to a wedding sometime soon. Oh yeah– and he's going to be the ring bearer! This dog is pulling double-duty to party and hang at a wedding, and they'll still be monitoring their owner's condition and keeping them safe at the same time! And you thought your job was hard! Nice work, Tux.
