Stray Pup Interrupts a Performance, And Finds a New Home In the Process!

A theater performance in Turkey was interrupted the other day when the most adorable stray dog bounded onto the stage to check on one of the actors. In the scene at hand, actor Numan Ertugrul Uzunsoy had to pretend he'd fallen off a horse, acting injured, breathing heavily and lying prostrate on the floor. While his fellow actors knew what was up, one audience member wasn't so sure, and went bounding on stage to make sure the man was ok!

That audience member, the sweetest stray dog around, knelt down to protect and check on Uzunsoy, who eventually broke character, and couldn't keep from laughing at the whole situation! Uzunsoy's fellow actors eventually came back out as well, leading the dog away into the wings where it could watch the rest of the performance.

The actor, Uzunsoy, said he couldn't help but tear up at the compassion the dog showed him– even if he wasn't actually injured– and the audience loved the interruption so much, the dog was given a recognition ceremony and a home. The video made us tear up too, and just shows again how kind and pure dogs really are. Without any prompting, and without any connection to this man, a dog who lives on the street put himself on the line to check on another soul, and we just knew you had to see it. Isn't this video just the tops? This Turkish theater company couldn't have had any idea that they'd be joined by such a sweet heckler. My favorite part of the whole video is how shy the dog seems at first. He comes out slowly, trying to survey the scene, and then once he realizes that the actor is alright his mood shoots through the roof! He starts smiling and wagging his tail, and it looks if the actors had tails, they'd be doing it right with him!

This Redditor pointed out some of the inherent biology at play in this situation. Dogs, and their ancestor the wolf, are vulnerable under the neck at the throat area. When this stray ran onto the stage and began tending to the human who he thought to be vulnerable, he went straight for the man's throat and covered it up. Then, when everyone came over for pets, he turned over and used the man's neck as a headrest for snuggling. Does it get any cuter than that?
