Nothing good comes from giving a cheater a second chance. That's a stance that I will solemnly swear by. Once someone has proved their character in that way, there is no telling whether or not they will do it again. As one commenter has pointed out, cheaters are often adrenaline junkies addicted to the thrill and control of the complex social manipulation that plays into maintaining a successful affair. Some had poor examples of what a relationship was during their formative years. And, yes, people make mistakes. But those mistakes display, at best, poor impulse control or bad judgment.
So what do you do when you have been cheated on? Of course, the best thing you can do is forgive them. There is no point in holding on to all of that negative energy and emotion; as another commenter mentions, that type of feeling is a poison that will eat away at you from the inside.
So, yes, forgive them. But make sure to get as far away from them as possible first. Once those two things are done, you can move on, for good, with your own life.
