Dog Owner Complains About Grooming 'Botch Job', Dog Groomers Of Reddit Lay Down The Facts

Taking the pets to get their hair done is always an adventure. You may request one specific style or direction from your stylist, you leave and return a couple of hours later to a completely different pet that does not even closely resemble the style you requested. We've had this happen to us many a time, and the original poster of this mildly infuriating Reddit thread understands the feeling firsthand. Though, we are skeptical as to the validity of the poster's anger. 

The OP took his double-coated doggo to the groomers for a standard visit, what he may not have realized though is that his doggo was quite matted (by the looks of it) and it may just have been necessary to give the dog a total shave. Dog grooming Redditors chimed in with: "double-coated dogs like this require very thorough brushing to prevent the undercoat from getting terribly matted. A lot of people don't know how to do it properly and only brush the topcoat. After a while, the undercoat can form a blanket of matting so bad that shaving is, unfortunately, the only option." And- "as someone who works with animals, let me ask - Have you been brushing him? Was he matted? Because, to me, he looks matted in the before photo." Some shade was thrown at OP, but that's okay, we live for the shade. Food for thought.
