People Describe The Weirdest And Funniest Non-Meow Noises Their Cats Make

Cats… cats can be so heckin' weird sometimes. Like- don't get us wrong, we love them. We love them not despite but because of how weird they are. It makes them unique and purrfect. No matter what it is. Some cats have weird obsessions with bread for some reason, other cats just don't like drinking water and you have to help them do it in creative ways, other cats try to steal food right off our plates. Every single one of them has something different. 

For this week's challenge, we wanted to show appreciation to cats - and we mean to the strangest furballs of the bunch. So, we decided to ask you guys to talk about what makes your cats… special. And specifically, we asked whether your cats - like some of ours - make weird non-meow noises sometimes. Watching you guys try to describe your cats' ridiculous noises was something truly hisstercial.

    Cat - Erin Brewer I have a cat that barks. This is Fiona. I call her Fefe. Before we had her, she lived with dogs. Every once in a while l'Il hear her go "rawr rawr rawr" and she'll bolt up the stairs. Like Reply Hide Send Message 7h

    This one maybe takes the cake, y'all. We have heard of cats making a variety of different noises throughout out time writing for ICanHasCheezburger, but we have yet to hear of a cat who… barks. What we would not give for you to send us a video of this happening. Please do- we will send you cat memes and cute cat pictures as payment.

    Oh, the classic unexplained and unexpected chirping noise. It seems to happen quite often with quite a few cats - including ours. And yes, somehow, it manages to catch us off guard every single times. It's just… not a noise that we expect to come out of them. It's so heckin' weird.

    Cat - Maggie King We've definitely heard this booger say Mama (that's what everyone calls me, and apparently he's learning to mimic it). There's also the low "mrrrow?" When he wants out or in to whatever he's shut out of or into, the short chirp/squeak when he wants food and I'm not coming fast enough, the long low growl/purr when he's really happy, the loud long chirp when he's looking for my husband, or the loud short meow yowl when looking for the three year old.     Rectangle - Petra Gubicza My cat communicates like a baby, when she wants food or attention, she says "neeeh". My Purrinces made an aweful noise when she was upset. Sounded like fry scream. She's no longer with us, i don't think i will ever forget that noise. Like Reply Hide Send Message 6h

    Organism - Katelyn Bennett Artemis (Left) likes to wander around the house making those little prrrrrrtt noises at everything and everyone. She taught her sister Aurora to do it too.     Cat - Mike Pelley My cat Lil' Bo here grew up as a MEAN lone feral kitten on our remote construction site (think he came on a rental equipment, totally alone) he started hanging at our office trailers and mingled with us, when he was by himself, he would literally make sounds like a honking goose, very distinguishable.     Cat - Terri Troutman This is a photo of Toodles. She was our sweet little Bengal girl, who passed away in February. She made the most amazing sounds that are hard to describe. Especially when she carried around her favorite thing, a plastic straw. Or when her brother sat in front of the pantry, meowing for treats. Then she made a kind of distressed meow-scream.     Font - Holly Scholz My baby talked a lot... my bf at the time didn't believe me (and he said he wasn't a cat person, either lol). I introduced her, said, "Baby-Joe, Joe-Baby."
