There's no greater feeling than closing your laptop/shutting up shop/strolling through your own front door and realizing that work is finally over for another few hours. Unfortunately, this comes hand in hand with the knowledge that you only have to do the whole thing all over again after only a rudimentary pause for eating, unwinding, and sleeping.
The U.S. has officially adopted the five day work week for ninety years, but it feels like the whole thing has been going on for a hell of a lot longer. It has to be said, there are way too many people out there who feel like their jobs are the bane of their existence. They shouldn't just feel "lucky" to be employed; the whole experience should be bearable as well, which it frequently isn't. That is why there is a whole subgenre of memes out there to help us cope with everything that working life throws at us. Hey, it's cheaper than therapy!
It's called a mental health day, and I need one several times a week.
Staying late? Never heard of it!
This fixes everything!
This better be true.
You're getting no intel on me, b*tch.
Really can't believe this.
It's only kinda my problem.
Guess I do contribute to society after all.
Just a crumb of free time, I beg.
Looks like it's time for a smoke break.
Peace out :)
The worst thing about Zoom meetings? No donuts.
They're like one big family.
It's all part of the process.
Soon…
It can't come fast enough.
