Every single cat owner knows that there are some struggles that come with being a feline parent. That's what we have decided to focus on for this week's challenge when we asked you to tell us about the funniest places you caught your cats hiding. Cats like causing chaos by nature. That's just what they do. Some cats sit in places that they shouldn't. Other cats steal food right off our plates. All cats have random zoomies in the middle of the night sometimes and run across our chests like a freight train as they chase some invisible spirits. We love them for it, of course. It's just that when they decide to silently hide somewhere for three hours and give us a heart attack, we think we could do without the extra excitement, and y'all seem to get it.
Still, we continue on loving them, nom matter how many times they give us heart attacks. Because that's just how cat people are - whipped and weak and forever loyal servants of our feline overlords.
"When we first adopted this girl in 2012 she disappeared. I thought she somehow escaped. I was so scared and worried. My husband comes home from work and opens one of the drawers on his dresser and there she was. No clue how she got in there and she never made a peep. She is now 21 and one of the best cats ever. Her name is Whisper because she is so quiet."
"My goober named Kai got me, one night many moons ago, he decided to sleep on the bath towel shelf. I did not see him, it was around 3am, had to use the toilet. It was dark and he reached out a grabbed my arm, I screamed he screamed, Little jerk scared the hell out of me."
"This old man, named Set, who in the pic decided to get into the trash, once decided a perfect hiding place would be UP the chimney.....yeah, we didn't even know he had gone up there until POOF! A large, completely soot covered furball just drops into the fireplace and saunters off, as if nothing happened, LMAO."
"My 22lb Maine Coon, Loki has 2 spots of note. He managed to remove the bottom lining of a leather arm chair and crawled inside. I had to buy a staple gun to repair it. He also regularly manages to get under our bath mats and uses them as blankets."
"Couldn't find my girl recently and looked all over for her. She wasn't in her usual spots on the windowsills and not in her cat tree. Found her sleeping on the top of the cupboards. She's become attached to this spot in the top"
"She has a bad habit of running out the front door (we live at the end of the apartment complex) and just sniffing around. Middle of winter with deep snow as we brought groceries in and once put away, Racy was no where to be found. I'm calling her and looking every where, I start to panic - go out side in the snow and calling. I am sick that she's gotten out and lost in the now brewing snow storm. I'm near tears and my husband asked did I check the bed - YES I checked the bed. He pulls the blankets completely off and there she is nestled under the bed pillows. WTF CAT!!!"
"My dad was moving out of state and out of his home of 44 years. On the last day there, we couldn't find his cat for many hours. We thought he was gone forever. I did one last sweep of the house and there he was all the way on the top of a bathroom cabinet in the corner where no one would ever look. Omg."
"It took a couple times of her getting shut in the fridge before she decided it wasn't the best hiding spot. This was almost 13 years ago and she crossed the rainbow bridge 2 1/2 years ago."
