Goofy Photos of the Santa Clara Men's Cross Country Team Are Going Viral

Here at Memebase we're big fans of viral yearbook photo stunts. Sometimes it's the clothing that gets people talking, and other times it's the clever or bizarre yearbook quotes. And while the viral antics of the week aren't coming from creative high school minds, they are coming from semi-recent grads. It seems that some photos of the Santa Clara men's cross country track and field team have wowed the internet thanks to a little bit of comedy and a whole lot of weird facial hair choices. 

The Twitterverse was alerted to the photos by user @TBGoPokes earlier this week, and people can't stop talking about the goofy stunt. Apparently, it's customary to get a little silly grow out a mustache or beard for the year's roster photos, but this year the team took things to the next level by arguably butchering their head and facial hair. Looking at the photos, it's really no wonder the guys went viral. 

We're especially fond of Harvey Chilcott's brave look. 

As one might expect, Twitter's funniest commentators had a blast riffing on the looks, which only adds to their value. We think everyone involved in this moment - from the team to the witty Twitter responders - deserves a hard pat on the back.
