Netflix recently released the much anticipated season 5 of "Selling Sunset". Fans were especially eager for this new installment as it promised to showcase the relationship between Chrishell - one of the real estate agents on the show - and her boss, Jason. Apart from one Instagram post of the couple looking happy and very much in love, we didn't get much more. Fans simply had to wait for the new season in order to watch the relationship unfold.
Dating the boss is often considered controversialand it is for that reason exactly that it makes for excellent entertainment: It's scandalous and sexy and often involves an element of secrecy due to the forbidden/taboo nature of the relationship. And you know what they say: "the best fruit is always forbidden". Inspired by Selling Sunset's newest couple, we have ranked some of the best boss-employee relationships on TV, ranked from least to most scandalous.
Jess implements a new no fraternization rule among the teachers at her school and repreimands Coach for sleeping with the school nurse. However, she quickly finds herself second guessing her decision, when she decleops a crush on Ryan, the new science teacher at her school. As she becomes increasingly more flustered in his presence, she finds it harder not to act on her feelings. The two ultimately give in and end up dating for a while. While Jess was Ryan's boss (she was vice-prinipal) their relationship lacked that "forbidden" narrative that usually makes for a compelling story arch. Besides, it's hard to ship these two, when Jess clearly belongs with Nick.
Sutton began her career at Scarlet Magazine as a low level assistant. It is there, where she meets Richard, the company's in house attorney. Despite their 15 year age gap and a strict no dating company policy, they begin seeing each other while keeping their relationship secret. But they were often hiding in plain sight - having sexy phone conversations in the office and stealing glances in the conference rooms. These two go through many ups and downs throughout the course of the series but ultimately find their way and end up together.
The pilot episode sees Meredith kicking out her one-night stand from the previous night, as she rushes to get ready for her first day of work as a first-year medical intern. A few hours into her internship, she realizes her one-night stand is non other than Derek Shepherd- the sexy neurosurgeon at Seattle Grace Hospital, aka her attending, aka her boss. While Meredith tries to resist her attraction, she inevitably fails. There are only so many sexually charged moments in a hospital elevator that one person can be expected to endure! These two also end up having sex in an exam room, which results in Meredith losing her panties. To her horror, they end up posted on the hospital's bulletin board with a "lost and found" note attached. Sleeping with the boss is not for the faint of heart.
Really, this one is a no brainer, given the name of the show. Shonda (who is also behind Grey's Anatomy), knows how to delivery some steamy plot lines. Olivia Pope manages crises for a living, but that doesn't mean she isn't tangled in one herself: Throughout the course of the series she has an affair with Fitz, who happens to be the President of the United States. She's dating THE boss. Even though we don't condone adultery, we can't help but root for these two! Their chemistry is unparalleled and their relationship is scandalous AF. I mean, these two are NSFW. They get it on in hotel rooms during campaign trails, make out next to the Secret Service and how could anyone forget when they went at it in the Oval Office?! No doubt these two deserve first place.
