'I'm not coming back': Nanny with dog allergies pretends to quit to make a point to family when they get new puppy, she gets a taste of reality when they replace her

Allergies are an immune response to allergens, or foreign substances, getting into the body. 30-40% of people in the world have had to deal with allergies. Food allergies are hard, but allergies to animals would be even harder for me. Imagine not being able to pet a kitten or puppy! In the story below, the protagonist is a guy who has a nanny come to the home to take care of his children. His nanny claims to have a dog allergy, and they had an old dog, Koby, when they hired her. She said it's fine, and that she can just take allergy medicine when she's at their home. Apparently, she assumed that Koby wouldn't live long, and that she would be free to work in peace after he passed. Well, turns out she was half right. 

He did pass soon after her hire, but what she didn't realize is that they would immediately get another dog. They get a puppy, so she threatens to quit. It's all for pretend though, and she gets a reality check.

  • They really called her bluff on this one. It's one thing that she told them, but it's another that she blamed them after for actually moving on. What did she expect? She thought there's only one nanny in the whole universe for this family to use?
