Font - Posted by u/nannerooni Mom doubled her salary by getting a new job and her old boss is losing his mind My mom has worked for a small construction company for like 10 years and hasn't gotten any raise other than the occasional large bonus. She asked and her boss said no even though he's personally filthy rich and she keeps the company afloat. She just applied to a larger construction company and with her amazing experience, even though she lacked the educational prerequisites, she blew thr

Font - He offered to pay her more than the new company offered her. He point blank told her "I haven't been paying you the value you are worth to me." What a f'kin slap in the face. I'm so glad she's leaving and said no to old boy's offer. After all these years of loyalty and struggling financially as a single mom right in front of him he admits he was doing it on purpose. Fk him. Small businesses don't automatically equal better businesses, folks.

He's a bad person and hoards money and gets even richer by always nitpicking every single thing he buys and demanding refunds. Even down to his Starbucks coffee order. And he's a rich client so people will be like "oh no sorry your marble came with a smudge on it here's a full refund sir." Just garbage like that. He creates a really hostile work environment by cursing and yelling constantly.

Font - dirtbyrd 6 hr. ago It's not just bosses. It's shitty people. Shitty people hate when others succeed. My co-worker who replaced me when I walked out won't even talk to me after she found out I doubled my salary. 349 Reply Share Electronic Repeat_81 5 hr. ago That sucks. She should be happy for you, and then say "let me know when they have any other openings." ✩ Vote Reply Share

Font - Puredepatatas. 5 hr. ago It happened something similar to me last year, but I decided to stay at my previous company as they also offered more for me to stay (eventho I previously asked for a raise and it was rejected), but since then, everytime I feel down, I tell them Im leaving and they offer a tiny increase in my pay which lifts my mood lol ↑ 76 Reply Share m1nkeh 4 hr. ago Hahah ↑ Vote Reply Share

Rectangle - Miserable-Extreme-59 6 hr. ago Good for her. He will absolutely not come through on what he offers. He can't be trusted. And she should switch ASAP, and not give that freeloading capitalist swine any more of her time. 136 Reply Share

Font - Count Bacula322079 4 hr. ago The construction industry is so toxic. My brother (no formal education) was doing the jobs of a project manager, shop foreman, bookkeeper, and structural engineer, and was frequently not taking home paychecks just so the other employees in the shop could get paid. He ended up addicted to amphetamines to keep up with it all. When he left, it didn't not take long for that shop to spiral out of control and close down. I hope the same thing happens to your mom's o
