Hey cat lovers! Are your cats purrfessional kneaders? Do they bake the most meowrific of biscuits, loaves of bread, and cakes? If they are anything like our cats, they probably do. For those who are not familiar, happy cats appear to knead to show pleasure. Cats often knead while being petted, or when snuggling into a napping spot. Your cat may also knead on your lap to show her love and contentment, and then settle in for a pat or nap. A stressed cat may knead to create a soothing, calm mood.
It's a thing. And we love it. Kneading is just one way your kitty shows affection. Some people call it 'making muffins' or 'baking biscuits' we went the extra mile and refer to this behavior also as 'baking bread' and 'kneading the dough'. This behavior stems from when your cat was a kitten nursing from his mother. Kneading is your cat telling you they feel loved and comforted by you. We love to see our happy cats feeling comfortable and content, and when they knead, we know we're doing something right as their loving humans.
Romeo really knows how to knead that dough and prepare those biscuits. We can't wait till the biscuits are hot, and fresh out the oven to give them a try.
