Breastfeeding Super Mom Saves Pet Goose From Bald Eagle Attack

Last week, a family in rural Canada faced a horrifying situation where they almost lost one of their beloved pets. After a hungry eagle had swooped in three times over the span of a week, killing a few of the family's chickens, that same bird came back and tried to make off with the family's pet goose, Franky. Thankfully, Mom was there to save the day and chase the eagle off, but under hilarious circumstances. Apparently, as she was walking around that morning, she was having a lazy day and wearing her husband's boxer shorts. She also was breastfeeding their youngest child. But, when she did what she always does, and opened the front door to let Franky the goose take a stroll, a bald eagle swooped down from a nearby copse of trees and attacked the family pet!

Cait Oaks, the mother in question, didn't hesitate to try and save her pet. She ran outside holding her baby, and wound up being able to chase the eagle off. Franky, not one to waste time, simply made her way straight back to the house, and then waited by the door for Mom to come let her back in. The whole scene only lasts a few seconds, but is incredibly scary when you realize that this eagle not only could've killed Franky, but it could've gotten agitated, and turned on Mom and the baby, seriously injuring them. Thankfully, nothing like that happened, and everyone involved is still here to laugh about the story. So, strap in and get ready for a wild one, because these pictures and videos of this silly, but very lucky goose, absolutely rocked us when we saw them for the first time.

It Doesn't Get Any Scarier Than This

Here you can see the security camera footage of the eagle attacking Franky the goose. It's a scary video, especially because that eagle swoops in so quickly, and has little to no trouble dragging Franky away, despite their relatively similar size. Biologically, geese and eagles excel at very different things, so this wasn't really a fair fight. Still, once Mom runs out and saves the day, we were all incredibly relieved.

You can tell from this still image that the eagle was waiting for a while to pounce. Franky has barely made it out the front door, and with the overhanging roof and brick wall adjacent to the patio, she probably wasn't that visible from that position. This eagle must've had his eyes trained on the door, and have been waiting for a while before he made his move.
