Adorable Asthmatic Cat Is Motivated To Use Inhaler By Lure Of Treats That Follow

Hey there, cat-loving humans! How are you all doing today? Well, if you ask us, the day has gotten off to a truly purrfect start. We started the day by scrolling through all of the cat content that Reddit, Twitter, and Facebook had to offer us! Lucky for us, a delightful thread presented itself, and we consumed that content so flipping fast that y'all didn't even know we could read that fast. 

Darth Mittens is an adorable little kitty cat, who happens to have asthma! his owner has found the purrfect way to motivate Darth Mittens into taking his inhaler, a necessary medical step towards caring for his asthma! Reddit users everywhere chimed in with their own cute and silly ways of bribing their own cats into taking medicine, using inhalers, and so much more. Fortunately, cats with asthma can still live long healthy lives with care and management of the condition! Phew!

    Two inhalers daily for the big cute boy Darth Mittens. We love that the cat's name is Darth Mittens, after Darth Vader who is known for his heavy and nasily breathing. Coincidence? We think not!

Sit with her and the inhaler and make her relaxed enough that she doesn't immediately bolt when she sees it. If she sniffs at it, treat. If she puts her nose in the inhaler, big treat! Eventually she'll associate the inhaler with good things so that she'll want to use the inhaler whenever you bring it out. I've adopted or cared for many rescues in my cat owned career. Right now, her inhaler means a horrible thing to her. The more she associates the inhaler with struggling, the more she's going to dislike it. If, on the other hand, the inhaler means awesome things, then she's going to be much more likely to enjoy it. The trick here is to not give her just one piece of treat, but to give her ALL THE TREATS IN THE WORL

    Font - guiltandsins 4 days ago We had to give our cat antibiotics last year, first time we had to get pills into him (fleaing and worming is a spot on), we were expecting a battle based on prior experience with cats. He just ate them. We did give him them with treats but he didn't chew like he would a treat, he moved it to the back of his mouth and swallowed. We were shocked.
