Technically, mice can be an emotional support animal, so though Mulcahy never says that Choohaa is, it's obvious this little mouse has brought her more than just companionship.

“Any domesticated animal may be considered as an ESA (e.g., cats, dogs, mice, rabbits, birds, hedgehogs, rats, minipigs, ferrets, etc.) and they can be any age. However, an ESA must be able to be manageable in public and does not create a nuisance,” U Mass Chan Medical School website reads. Choohaa meets the requirements, so Mulcahy might not have the paperwork, but she still dedicates a lot of her current wellbeing to this itty bitty creature.

You can see the love that this farmer has developed for this smol mouse. Choohaa sees her human coming and gets so excited. She scurries around until she is able to climb into the hand of her savior and even plays with her. The little baby would have had no chance if it wasn't for this farmer, and now she is living the most comfortable domesticated life a mouse could ask for!

Wild mouse rescue is not usually on the to-do list for most farmers. In fact, mice tend to be a nuisance to farmers and that's why barn cats come into play. However, Mulcahy is a small farmer, more just raising her animals for herself. So one small little mouse sure wasn't a big deal to her. And when she saw the little girl suffering yet still clinging as hard as she could to life, she just had to step in and save her. “She had so much will to live so I had to give it a shot,” she says in a video telling the story of the rescue. Boy, is she happy she saved this little baby, because now she says Choohaa has become “good therapy” for her. It has been a year since the epic rescue of Choohaa by Mulcahy. The little mouse has made a complete recover from her chicken beak injuries and now gets spoiled as much as possible by her unlikely adoptive parent. It's an adorable story of friendship and love.
