Did you even know that skunks can be domesticated? Because I sure didn't, and it would appear a lot of the internet had no idea either. Apparently, skunks can be domesticated and they are the FRIGGIN' CUTEST. Like, what?? Anybody remember Flower from the classic traumatizing heartbreaker children's film Bambi?? Well, meet Flowers IRL. This domesticated skunk is named Atari and she bats her cutie little eyes just like Flowers in Bambi. She knows how to work the camera and if you don't instantly fall in love, then something is wrong with you.
Recently, sweet lil skunky baby girl Atari has gone viral for something so simply, yet it is driving everyone on the Internet crazy. She simply just wakes up, does a little stretch, a baby yawn, and then scritch-scratches her lil snoot and it is the most adorable thing you'll ever experience.
Viewers of the now viral video are in aw of this little skunk's adorableness. After her cute big stretch, yawn, and scratchies like a baby just awakening in its crib, she crawls out to get her pets from her human. Her eyes are still heavy with sleepiness and she looks happier than ever.
Domesticated skunks aren't as common as you would think after seeing how adorable Atari is and how happy she appears. There is controversy revolving around adopting then. The biggest thing is the process of descenting. All domesticated skunks are “disarmed” basically at a young age. It's apparently an easy procedure, like fixing a dog, where they simply remove the part of the body that produces the stink they use to protect themselves while in the wild. They have no need for it in captivity, since the human is there to protect them at all costs. But it is still something animal lovers and skunk enthusiasts are uneasy about. Atari is descent and seems perfectly content, however.
