Twitter Thread: Purrfectly Acceptable Cat Behaviors That Are Unacceptable When Humans Do Them

As cat owners, we have to get used to a lot. There are just so many things that our cats do that are hella weird, and we just accept them. Because we love cats. We accept cats as who they are. We accept it when our cats have random bursts of energy in the middle of the night. We accept it when our cats sit right on top of our fresh laundry and get their fur everywhere. We accept it even when our cats steal food right off our plates. Okay, we don't really accept that last one, but sometimes, they manage to snatch food off our plates before we notice, and we end up being more reluctantly impressed than mad.

There are so many cat behaviors that we accept as part of the reality of owning a cat, and yet, if we were to do some of these things… it would not end well. And there are some cat things that we wanna do too. We would also like to just smack someone in the face if they pet us for too long. Yes.

If you tell us that you have never imagined doing just that - turning around and walking away from someone who is annoying you - we will call you a liar. Everyone wants to have the kind of permission to do whatever they wanna do like cats do, even the most staunch cat hates. We truly believe that.

The things we do for our cats really have no limit. No matter how little love they give us back, we continue to give them everything that we have and more, savoring every hint of affection that they deem us worthy of. It's gotta be an unhealthy relationship somehow… eh, we don't care, we love them.
