The paranormal world is a pretty big part of pop culture. It overlaps with the horror genre (the unexplainable, to most people, is pretty damn terrifying), and has been the basis for (or a topic on) sixty eight reality television series. People live for ghost stories, tales of UFO sightings and abductions, and somehow, are really interested in Bigfoot. I know some folks who shell out hundreds of dollars on psychics, and hold seances in earnest. If I hadn't heard a ghost story from an entire family, I would definitely be a staunch skeptic in this area. Since then I suspend that disbelief, which makes enjoying paranormal media or accounts a lot more fun.
While I enjoy television related to ghosts, aliens, or witchcraft, I've always preferred hearing creepy and unexplainable stories from real people, in person. There are, however, some exceptions to this. This thread from redditor u/Otherwise-Recover-57 is a good example. OP asked users to share real life paranormal experiences, and people did not hold back. They shared tales of precognition, communicating with the dead, and other eerie happenings that a lot of people would find hard to believe. We may never know if these people are telling the truth, but their stories are incredibly detailed, interesting, and certainly make us wonder WTF is out there. See for yourself.
