Toddler Has the Most Heart-Wrenching Wholesome Reaction to Finding Out Her Mom Was Adopted, Has the Internet in Tears

Toddlers say the darnedest things, but sometimes they say just the right things. A mom on social media recently posted a candid moment between her and her toddler daughter that has everyone on the internet crying. 

The daughter was asking who her mommy's mom was, and the mom replied that is was a woman they call “Mimi.” The daughter asked why Mimi was her mommy's mom, and her mom told her that she was actually adopted. The daughter didn't understand, so the mom told her it was because her birth mom didn't want her, so Mimi adopted her. The sweet innocent little girl said “awww” thought for a second and then told her mom, “I want you"—which, of course, instantly get her mother into tears. 

The mom was in the middle of eating a banana, but the second her child said “I want you” she had to set that down and feel all the feels with her daughter. She bent down and grabbed embraced her baby, saying, “that was so sweet—that's exactly why I had you [because I want you too].” The baby hugged her mom back with all her might and told her, “I really want you…I'll be your mommy… I'm your mommy now.” 

They were just simple innocent toddler sentiments, but they were just the right things to say and her mother couldn't hold back the tears. The touching moment was captured on their home security footage and the mom shared it on her TikTok. The now-viral video is truly putting a little bit of faith back into humanity for viewers. 

“She didn't even think for 5 seconds, she decided immediately, she was going to be your new momma😭,” one person commented. Another viewer said, “As someone who is also adopted, this made me cry.” One person even added their own wholesome toddler moment, “kids are so sweet—when my mom passed my nephew told me, ‘it’s ok, we share my mom.' 🥺😭” Many other viewers are saying it's a “full circle” moment for the mom who didn't have her birth mother growing up, but now has that  type of emotional security when she gave birth to such a loving daughter. 

The video is a nice break from all the mayhem that is constantly bombarding us on the internet about our current time and place—it's a small reminder that humans can be good.
