Font - DHThrowawayy OP. the full story 5 days ago when i left work yesterday, i heard a faint meow coming from the engine of my car after about a half mile. i pull over, open the hood, and there's a scared little kitten tucked up under my battery (it was raining, poor girl was probably trying to stay dry)

Font - I tried to reach her myself, but i failed & called animal control. they immediately came to our rescue, and thus, Turbo and i were united! The animal control officer said she's about a month and a half old, and i've already got a veterinarian appointment set up for tomorrow to get her checked out. Proud cat dad

Rectangle - TheWolfmanZ. 5 days ago I went to go adopt a new cat one day and in turn got adopted myself by a void kitty who crawled her way up my chest and into the hood of my hoodie, where she proceeded to take a nap.

Font - Niacain 5 days ago Genuine question: A bunch of cat posts with stories on Reddit are about how people find a cat and just take it with them. Or start giving a visiting cat food and it stays... Is that considered normal? Won't someone miss their kitten now? Is this not just pet theft? I know there's always someone in the comments that says "so sweet, it chose you" etc. but I thought most pet animals will accept food if given it and like here this kitten probably just tried to stay dry/warm

Font - DoctorOctagonapus+1 · 5 days ago There does seem to be a real problem with people not doing due diligence with stray pets. OP does at least have a vet appointment set so they can scan for a microchip. I feel like that's the absolute minimum people should do if they end up with a stray cat.
  • 12
Font - 5 days ago OP says Turbo is about 6 weeks old. I believe a microchip is unlikely. Based off my (limited) experience, most vets will not chip a kitten until they are 6 months old. Happy to be corrected. C746t

Font - TheRealSaerileth 5 days ago Vets are usually aware of people missing a kitten, chip or no. Since that's the first place people take a supposed stray, it's common practice to inform all local vets and shelters when you can't find your pet. Vets also tend to keep an eye on "missing" posters in their area.

Human body - Major_Eiswater. 5 days ago We found our cat in a wall! They say cats sometimes choose they're owners. Ours is called Polly and she has two sisters found in the roof, Lolly and Dolly! Mum was captured and adopted too :).
