Here is one of the most successful wildcats in the world... and you may have not heard of them. They are known as Geoffroy's Cat, nicknamed 'Salt Cat,' in German, due to their territory being mostly arid or semi-arid, like the salt flats in Bolivia.
If you were to ever come across a salt cat in the wild, you might mistake it for a house cat, due to its size and look. The salt cat comes in different colors, due to their geographical location. For example, in the South America forests and wetlands, you may be lucky enough to come across a melanistic salt cat that looks just like a mini-panther!
Who knew there were more cat species than we realized? There's also a similar cat that is located in the desert known as the Sand Cat.
