"Thought to be extinct until 20 birds were rediscovered on a remote lake in 2006, the Madagascar pochard has been thrown a lifeline with conservation breeding. 21 ducklings were released in 2018, breeding in the wild in 2020. The wild population now stands at 70 birds, with more releases planned"

"Helmeted Guineafowl is a gregarious species, forming flocks outside the breeding season typically of about 25 birds that also roost communally. They are particularly well-suited to consuming massive quantities of ticks, which might otherwise spread Lyme disease."

"This is a 3 day old snapping turtle. Snapping turtles lay their eggs on land and are often predated/disturbed. Their sex is determined by the temp of their egg during incubation. This baby still has it's egg tooth."
