Most Hissterically Ridiculous Experiences People Have Had With Their Cats At The Vet's Office

For this week's challenge, we have decided to focus on how ridiculous cat ownership can be. Ridiculous in a funny way, of course. It's true that cats can be quite ridiculous in and of themselves, but it's not just them… we can be kind of ridiculous too. And one of the places where that is best captured is whenever we visit the vet with our cats.

Going to the vet with your cat is always a ridiculous experience - in one way or another. Cats hate it. In fact, we have made a whole hissterical compilation of cats feeling betrayed by their humans when taken to the vet. And we kind of hate it too - both because we don't like seeing our cats in distress and because, sometimes, you can meet some craaazy cat people at the vet's office. That's why we asked you guys to tell us about the most ridiculous experience you've ever had with your cat at the vet's, and as always, you delivered.

"This is Izzy and the funniest thing she did at the vet was when the vet was turning her around to give her the shots she did a number 2 on the table. I guess when you got to go you got to go"

"My cats are mother (Misty..the gray one) and daughter (Skinny..the calico). Mom has always been fairly friendly and outgoing usually. Daughter though, hated people and spent 99% of her time hiding. To get them to the vet I had to find the Daughter, catch her, and then get her in the carrier. Mom would just sit and watch and let me pick her up and put her in afterwards. At the vet one time they were getting checkups and the vet said to just let them out and wander the room. They both climbed up a shelving unit and found the jar of treats...which then got sniffed a LOT. Vet saw this when he came in and gave each one a couple treats and put the jar on a different and higher shelf. This did not stop Skinny or Misty. While one was being examined the other was climbing up to the jar and trying to open it. It almost fell a couple times. I think they each left there with aboit 10 treats each. Both only weigh 8 to 9 pounds each..so they are always confused for older kittens. They are 11 amd 10 years old though"

"Eddie is known as the squirmiest of squirmy cats at his cardiologist. Not a biter. Not aggressive. But SQUIRMY is in giant letters all over his records. Took two vet techs and me to hold him down so the Doc (veterinary cardiologist) could do his yearly echo. But they loooovvveee him because he acts all cute otherwise with his vampire kitty fangs and squeaks."

"This is Sophie Grace and she thoroughly enjoys making the vet tech chase her around the exam room when it's time for Sophie to get her blood sugar checked as she is diabetic. My dad says he's both mortified and amused when she does that on his watch. Sophie is a real stinker but at the end of the day she is such a sweet girl. She never bites or scratches the vet or vet techs no matter how irritated she gets. She is an all around friendly girl but boy is she ever naughty!!!"

"Everytime we go to the vet, Saxon pees in his kennel. So we they are never able to get urine for him. His last vet appointment, he did NOT pee himself and they finally got urine and I could hear all the techs ect cheering for him!"

"Emmett went to the emergency vet to have an infected paw treated. While I was paying, I overheard the vet tech telling a couple about the worst cat they ever had to put back into a carrier and it was Emmett. They had to take the carrier apart and kind of build it up around him."

"When Quinn was a kitten, she chewed on EVERYTHING! Plastic, wires, etc. Had emergency surgery to remove items too big to pass through. One was a furniture button! We tried to "kitten proof" the house, but she did it again! This time, after hours surgery. Vet's comment: "I should put a zipper in this cat". Fortunately, she outgrew it."

"Choppers last trip for a checkup. No box for him just a harness and then walked in like he owned the place. The vet comes in says I bet he's quite a character. You have no idea, he's like super adventure cat curious with a streak of yard ape."
