So in case you weren't aware, in 2022, if you meet someone you like, it's very probable that the minute you get home, you will look them up on all the socials. You will likely find out where they're from, where they went to school, what they do for a living, and generally what their life is like (or at least, what it seems like their life is like). To a certain degree, we're all stalkers now.
This woman, however, did all of that and more. Not only did she find out all of that general info online, but she also found out where a man lived and what neighborhoods he frequented. Slightly crazy but maybe she found out those details by accident? Nope! She then inserted herself into his life because the city where they lived was too big for her to leave them running into each other again up to chance. The most bizarre part of the story is that…it worked out well for her. A few years later, they signed marriage papers and are having their ceremony in a couple of weeks. Clearly, however, the true story behind how they "fell in love" is weighing on her, as she anonymously confessed the truth via this thread on Reddit's r/TrueOffMyChest subreddit under the pseudonym u/juju_sitsu.
Who knows what will become of this marriage, but if he ever wants out of the relationship, we don't see a world in which it ends amicably. However, if the marriage does work out, one has to wonder: are we living in a world where stalkers are more likely to find love than the rest of us? Not that we condone this behavior by any means, but also…if we really want love…is stalking the way to go? Asking for a friend.
We've seen other shocking dating anecdotes, like this jerk who told his date they weren't compatible because of the way she ate her salad.
