We are whipped for cats. We just… felt like we had to get that out of the way first. We know that our love for them is unreasonably intense. We love everything about them - from their softness to the way that they dig their claws into our skin and prick us to show love. We know it, and we don't judge - neither ourselves nor anyone else. More than that, we know that people have always been whipped for cats. We have seen paintings of cats destroying stuff throughout history. We have found photos of handmade tiny hammocks for naval ship cats throughout history. We have even come across a thread about a 9th century teenage emperor bragging about his cat.
Today, we have the continuation of this sage - further proof that people have forever and always been whipped for cats and that you shouldn't have any shame about feeling the same way. A whole thread of paintings of people throughout history spoon feeding their cats like babies.
We do appreciate how, in 99% of these paintings, the cats looks just as done with the whole thing as we would expect them to. We humans have never had any false ideas about what cats are. We know that they're annoyed with us babying them, and we do it anyway, because we absolutely cannot stop ourselves lol.
And not only are the cats totally done with the humans in these paintings, in most of them, the cats are also securely bundled up - better known as "burrito-ed" - because we know better than to try to spoon-feed them without restraining them. It's for our safety, not theirs.
