Grandma Watches a Scary Movie for the First Time and Has Hilarious Reaction

Have you ever watched an old scary movie? They can be creepy, but they're just not like the more recently-made horror movies. I mean, the Grindhouse style didn't even start until the ‘70s, so gory movies were just black and white. That can be scary if you’ve never been exposed to anything else, but now we're talking about slasher flicks, gory crime dramas, psychological thrillers, and more that are made with much better cameras and special effects—AND the story telling is way less censored. Go ahead, try and change my mind! I enjoy all the super old scary classics, don't get me wrong, they'll still give me light nightmares—but if you've only seen those kinds of horror films and then were shown something like Planet Terror, you'd be gasping for air. Don't deny it.

A gen-z recently showed her grandma her “first scary movie.” It was the classic, Scream, the original teen slasher flick from 1996. I'd say that is a horror movie to ease someone into the genre. It's bloody, but not grotesquely gory, and it's pretty tamed, tbh. There are some good jump scenes though and the story is interesting. So grandma here had A TIME, to say the least.

(If you aren't familiar, whoa…. Scream is about a serial k!lling slasher running rampant on a small town and its high schoolers. The k!ller dresses up in a popular/super common Halloween mask of the time, so it was difficult to find him. There are tons of twists and turns and lots of people getting stabbed. It truly is a slasher classic. It has since become a huge franchise with 5 films and even a TV series—which was debatably eh.)

If you have never watched a scary movie before, then, yeah, Scream would scare you. But in this day and time, I'd say it's not even as scary as a true crime podcast or even the local news! So, although grandma was yelling at the TV screen and yelping at the jump scares, she was probably somewhat mentally prepared for the spooks just from watching cable.

Grandma here handle it pretty well, but she definitely seems like she'll be triple checking the locks all around her house after watching this one.
