Retired Engineer Dad Sends Epic Booby-Trap Halloween/Wedding Anniversary Gift as Prank to Daughter, Goes Viral

Recently, a woman named Ellie Zedd posted a video of a prank her father pulled on her and has since gone viral. She says that her dad used to be an aerospace engineer but very recently retired and found himself with idle hands. He needed to do some engineering, so now every time he mails something to his daughter and her wife he makes sure it's more than just a box with stuff. Zedd's wedding anniversary happens to fall on Halloween, so it's the perfect time to send a gift and a trick. This year, she made sure to show off the booby-trapped package.

She points out that her first red flag was the intentionally cut tab forcing her to open it in a certain way. She knew that once she pulled that tab, something was bound to happen—if her father stayed true to his new reputation. So she shows that once she pulled the tab, you can see it's locked onto another mechanism for some mysterious purpose. When she finally pulled it, a creature came flying out from the other side at lightening speed.  

It turns out it's not just packages her dad booby-traps, he also has pranked her with just a simple card—making nothing safe! She showed off a Halloween card he sent her that upon first appearance looks completely innocent. But her dad had secretly equipped it with one of those popgun mechanisms, so that when she opened it would flash and smoke and make and loud POP sound. She said when she opened that card for the first time, completely unsuspecting, she almost “sh!t her pants,” so from then on she has been opening everything her dad sends her very cautiously.
