Forming a close relationship with your boss can be great, but it comes at a price when they try to abuse that relationship. This college student posted her story to this thread on Reddit's r/AmITheA**hole subreddit.
Essentially, when the Redditor returned to this local delivery business because she needed the money, she was completely manipulated when after working for 7 hours during a long day, she casually learned from her bosses that her pay was being cut from $3.50 per order to $2.75 per order (Red Flag #1). That's a significant decrease, and it gets worse. On top of that, the Redditor didn't receive her paycheck when she was supposed to (Red Flag #2). She didn't just walk out of her shift because she was wronged, she walked out of her shift to pick up another one at her waitressing job because she needed an immediate paycheck. Her bosses didn't seem to understand and tried to manipulate her further by saying they view her as a daughter (Red Flag #3)!
Thankfully, the Redditor has expressed that she has no plans to return to this job. Good riddance! For more content like this, take a look at this post about a workplace limiting an employee's break areas. Keep scrolling below for this full story!
