Hey y'all. We love all cats, that's no secret, but sometimes we like to give a shout out to certain breeds and showcase their silly moments, beauty, and overall adorable-ness. This time we're shining a huge spotlight on calico cats. The calico is a domestic cat with a tri-color coat; white, black, and orange. Calicos are known to be sassy and spunky, but as we cat people know, this depends on each cat individually. We personally love our calicos, we think they're the perfect combination of all three colors. A perfect combination of smart, funny, cuddly, and independent.

Did you know that the vast majority of calico cats are female? Two X chromosomes are needed for a cat to have that distinctive tri-color coat. If a cat has an XX pair, she will be female. Male cats have an XY chromosome pair, so they can't be Calicos. We learn something new every single day over here at ICanHasCheezburger, y'all.
