Nostalgia works in interesting ways. Typically, we see media and culture going through the 20-year nostalgia cycle, where iconography and media from 20 years ago come back into style. We saw it in the 90s with shows like That 70s Show, and we saw it in the 70s with movies like Grease. We're even seeing it now with early 2000s fashion coming back for Gen Z. Nostalgia comes in different cycles, and it seems to be coming quicker than ever. I'm even starting to see nostalgia for 2012 popping up like that wasn't ten short years ago. I even feel pangs of nostalgia for, dare I say, TikTok trends from 2019! It's shocking how much we want to be in a time that's not now, but there's no shame in embracing that feeling every once and a while. These nostalgic memes are perfect for you if you're willing to look upon the past fondly.
