One of Elon Musk's most confusing new projects at Twitter has finally been implemented. It's called Twitter Blue, and it's encouraging users everywhere to pay $8 to be officially verified on Twitter. Once only reserved for famous people, politicians, or brands, Musk has decided to level the playing field, so to speak, and let anyone who has $8 to burn to get the coveted little blue check. The biggest questions regarding this new development have been "how?" and "why?" and "huh?" The largest concrete concern is "how will we be able to tell who is actually verified and who bought verification?" Before yesterday, we had no idea, but now that Twitter Blue has dropped, it's so much funnier than we could've ever predicted. Click on the blue check on a user's profile, and it will tell you whether they're verified through Twitter Blue or because they're notable. This revelation and the debut of the new feature prompted many hilarious responses on the bird app.
