For some reason, corporate America seems to think that it's perfectly acceptable to start selling Christmas decorations and Christmassy themed things the second the clock tolls 12pm on Halloween night. Waking up with your skeleton makeup still creased in your eyelids does not inspire good cheer. Costco, Walmart, and Target need to pump their brakes on that. For reasonable people who simply want to enjoy existence on this planet during autumn, the start of Christmas music in the grocery store on endless loop is not something we're looking for in November. Sure, the Christmas season is cool and all, but everyone just needs to relax — it's just too soon.
So if you're already ready to ruin every 5 year olds delusion of Santa Claus and it's not even December yet, it's time to unleash your inner Grinch and grimace at all things jolly. The cheer is just not here yet… It really is the Nightmare Before Christmas.
