Font - Everyone loves to gush how smart their dogs are. Potential dog owners dream of owning a smart dog that can learn commands on the fly and is smart as a whip. Dumb dog owners lament and diss their dog.

Font - Not me, I love my dumb dog. I have four dogs, and one has two brain cells that are running half capacity. One of my dogs is smart enough to have human illnesses like anxiety and depression, combined with being smart enough to open round doorknobs, and the interior locking mechanism of my truck topper? She has better mental health care than I do.

Font - My other smart dog needs hours of mental stimulation. She knows the name of all of her toys, so I need to hide them and make her find the right one. I need to feed her in such a way that she can pretend that she's hunting/sniff work. I make her pull me on skis for 10 miles so that she feels gainfully employed. There's no such thing as bad weather in her opinion.

Font - My dummy though? Give her a biscuit and a warm spot on the couch and she's golden. She wants nothing more than a full belly that's being rubbed. She can't figure out how to escape any containment, including stepping over a 4" barrier that is shorter than her legs. She just accepts her fate and enjoys the puzzle that I leave her in her kennel. She might not be able to figure out how puzzles are supposed to work, but she can suck the food out with her tongue like an anteater. She's sweet, a

Font - I tried forcing her to be smart. I tried skiing with her, but she couldn't figure out how to not get run over. I try having her do nose work and puzzle feeding, but she gets frustrated when she can't figure it out, it's not fun for her. So we just hangout at our farm and she grazes on grass and digs for tubers and roots, happy as a pig in mud.

It's kind of a pain in the sometimes because I'm always having to come up with new things to do with him and new things to teach him. Sometimes I wish I had gotten a dog with just one brain cell bouncing around in its head. I love my dog, but a smart dog gets so tiring sometimes Imao

Font - horriblegoose_. 15 days ago My stupid dog is one of my favorite creatures. She's that perfect combination of dumb and lazy. I joke and say she's basically a throw pillow that needs to eat. You can just look into her eyes and it's apparent that absolutely nothing is going on in her head. She's 8 and has proven incapable of learning a command as simple as sit. Sweet girl is completely happy laying around all day and never causing trouble. Our other two dogs are smart and are much more diffi

Font - Crazyboutdogs. 15 days ago Gorging German Shepherd People always think I'm crazy when I say I like bad dumb dogs. They really are the best. I have a GSD now that inherited none of the intelligence the breed normally gets. He is AMAZING. He still has all of the drive and playful of a GSD, but will repeatedly run into a closed door. He is sweet and kind and total idiot.
